SUMMARY:The 2026 Uniquely Cleveland Nutcracker Auditions
DESCRIPTION:City Ballet of Cleveland is holding its annual Uniquely Cleveland Nutcracker audition on Sunday\, September 13th from 12:30 pm–4:30 pm. The audition is open to all area dancers ages 7 and older\, with at least one year of ballet\, jazz\, tap or hip-hop experience. \nThis year\, the performance will feature a reimagined Act I where audience members will have a glimpse of Katherine Halle’s Winter Wonderland\, a special look at what happens after her family’s party and before the baseball battle between the Mouse King and the Nutcracker. This special Act I will feature tap\, jazz\, hip-hop\, and contemporary dances; dancers with experience in those genres are encouraged to audition! Dancers auditioning for pointe roles\, including Act I Snow and Act II Waltz of the Flowers\, should wear their pointe shoes to audition. DESCRIPTION:City Ballet of Cleveland is pleased to announce auditions for Dr. Coppelius’ Workshop on Saturday\, January 24 from 1:30 pm -2:30 pm. Students will be expected to rehearse on Saturdays beginning in February. Rehearsals will run from approximately 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm depending on the role in which students are cast. \nAll students who are cast in Dr. Coppelius’ Workshop will perform in City Ballet of Cleveland’s Spring Repertoire Performance on Saturday\, May 16\, 2026 at 7:00 pm at The Lorraine and Bill Dodero Performing Arts Center at Gilmour Academy. The tech/dress rehearsal is scheduled for Friday\, May 15\, 2026 starting at 5:00 pm. SUMMARY:Dress Drive to Support our Scholarship Fund
DESCRIPTION:Do you have suits\, tuxes\, prom dresses\, cocktail dresses\, bridesmaid dresses\, or other formal attire that looks amazing in your closet but has only been worn once or twice? Do spring cleaning and donate your gently used dresses\, formal attire\, and accessories to CBC’s second annual Dress Drive. We will collect items through March 23 at Cleveland City Dance in Shaker Square. \nPlease call 216-295-2222 to schedule a time to drop off your items or visit us during regular business hours. As a courtesy\, we ask that dresses be laundered and in good condition. \nThe Dress Drive will run from Monday\, April 1\, to Saturday\, April 27. \nProceeds from the dress sale will benefit City Ballet of Cleveland’s Scholarship Fund. The goal of this scholarship fund is to provide financial assistance to aspiring dancers and offset expenses associated with dance training\, attire\, and shoes. Proceeds will also help to fund future outreach and performance opportunities for the youth in our community.
